The Queens landlord who threatened to evict his tenants if they could not prove they were legally in the United States is now facing a complaint from the State Division of Human Rights.

ved a letter in June demanding that they come to the property management office with their Social Security card, photo ID, proof of employment and a Green Card or passport or else their lease could be terminated and they could face evi上海同城对对碰交友社区


The landlord of the building, Jaideep Reddy, apologized for the letter and said 爱上海同城手机版

he would retract it. He also said the letter was written by the building’s electrician, Eddie Peralta.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced on Monday that the state has now filed a complaint against Reddy for targeting and discriminating against immigrants. Cuomo had ordered a state investigation into discriminatory behavior by landlords in June based on increased reports of landlords demanding that tenants provide proof of citizenship or get上海千花网


Reddy and Peralta did not respond to requests for comment.
